Grains Australia was established to deliver industry service functions on behalf of the Australian grains supply chain. Its core functions are to establish and maintain a grain variety classification system, to provide services that maintain and improve trade and market access, to develop long term market and consumer analysis and product awareness, to support longer term demand and value creation and to provide technical support and training to participants in the Australian grains industry and to its customers.

The Role:
In this role, the Business Data Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that Grains Australia’s ICT infrastructure is fit for purpose and that the availability, quality, and utilisation of business data are optimised to meet the current and future needs of the organisation. This will require engagement with the strategic pillars of business such as Classification, Trade and Market Access, Market Information and Market Education.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, The Business Data Analyst will work closely with internal stakeholders and external service providers to gather requirements, map and analyse processes, and support the design, evaluation, and delivery of effective technology solutions aligned with Grains Australia’s ICT & Data Strategy and Roadmap.
The Business Data Analyst will also identify opportunities to enhance each division’s capability to make informed business decisions, using existing / internal data.
This role can be performed remotely, located anywhere in Australia.
The Person:
To be considered for this opportunity, candidates will ideally possess the following:
- An established track record in project management delivery (gained in the ICT sector)
- Proven skills in data analysis and business intelligence systems implementation
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement/communication skills - to engage across the entire organisation
- Experience in establishing and enhancing internal processes
- Emotional intelligence and sound commercial judgement
- Relevant qualifications in Information and Communication Technology
- A connection to agriculture and/or regional Australia
