Our client is a well-regarded provider of agricultural services, focused on improving farm system performance through better data and decision-making. With established operations across southern Australia and strong momentum in key regions, they’re now investing in strategic growth in the Riverina, with Griffith and surrounding districts as the next frontier.
You’ll step into an established region with existing grower and agronomist relationships already in place. This is not a blank-page territory build. The foundations are there, along with active demand, allowing you to focus on expanding to new markets, deepening engagement, strengthening partnerships, and driving adoption rather than starting from zero.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Northern Region Manager, the Business Development Manager-NSW will be responsible for developing key agronomy and grower relationships in the Riverina. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building new markets, working consultatively with agronomists and growers, and laying the foundations for long-term commercial partnerships.
You’ll be tasked with growing the agronomy partner channel, introducing the company’s value proposition to the local market, and supporting adoption of their precision soil services. A strong pipeline of opportunity already exists, including high-value work with irrigated cereal, cotton, maize, and tree crops, with further growth targeted in partnership with regional agronomists.
Riverina-based, with Griffith preferred, though strong candidates based in Wagga Wagga will also be considered.
About You
To succeed in this role, you’ll be a self-starter with strong relationship-building skills and a genuine interest in data-led agriculture. You may be working in ag inputs, agronomy, farm systems or services, but what sets you apart is your ability to engage, influence and convert existing opportunities into sustained commercial outcomes.
You will bring:
- Client-facing experience in Australian broadacre or irrigated cropping systems
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A commercial mindset, with the ability to position services based on value
- Technical understanding of soil/crop constraints (you don’t need to be an agronomist, but should be comfortable discussing data)
- Confidence working autonomously and driving market growth
- Relevant qualifications or industry experience
Why this role?
This is a key growth role with long-term upside, where you can step into an established market with momentum and build on it. On offer is a generous salary package plus a vehicle allowance and tools of trade. The Business Development manager will also be encouraged to participate in ongoing training, personal development and the group’s financial incentive scheme.
This is a WFH position with monthly travel to Ballarat HQ (2-3 days each visit) during onboarding and strategic planning phases.
