    The Position

    Reporting directly to the Board and working closely with the leadership team, the CEO will provide strategic, financial, and operational leadership aligned with DataGene’s vision and objectives. This senior role requires managing a complex stakeholder landscape, both domestically and internationally, and expanding strategic opportunities for digital and data services across agriculture. Key responsibilities include genetic evaluation, international collaborations, software and data system development and oversight, and notably, strategic business development. 

    The Person  

    We are particularly interested in speaking with you if you possess the following experience, key skills, attributes and experience:   
    • Senior executive leadership experience within agribusiness, genetics, or Agritech digital/data services. 
    • Strategic expertise in developing, implementing, and executing business growth plans and strategic initiatives. 
    • Demonstrated financial management capabilities with proven success operating in a commercial business environment.  
    • Proven capacity to identify and successfully procure outside funding opportunities.  
    • Thorough understanding of genetics, herd improvement, data analytics, and emerging agricultural technologies. 
    • Highly developed stakeholder engagement, communication, and representational skills at national and international levels. 
    • Proven capability to foster a high-performing, inclusive, respected and innovative organisational culture. 
    • Relevant tertiary qualifications in agriculture, animal science, business, or related fields. 
    • Based in Melbourne, the role involves frequent interstate, regional, and international travel.
