Avocados Australia is a not-for-profit organisation representing the Australian avocado industry from orchard to consumer. It provides strategic leadership, advocacy, research, market development and practical services to help growers and the broader supply chain remain profitable, competitive and sustainable.
The Opportunity Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will manage the end-to-end capture, validation, analysis and reporting of key avocado industry data. Working as part of a small team you will oversee Avocados Australia’s core data systems and build strong relationships with growers, packhouses, traders and other industry stakeholders across Australia and New Zealand.
- Collect weekly and seasonal dispatch and forecast data from packhouses, traders and industry bodies, including regular phone engagement with growers.
- Manage reporting and produce accurate weekly, quarterly and annual industry reports
- Validate data for completeness and accuracy, then analyse trends in production, supply, demand, volume and price
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, including migrating existing PDF reports into interactive formats
- Prepare professional graphs, presentations, statistics snapshots and tailored reports that help stakeholders interpret industry data
- Support project planning, milestone reporting, implementation and budget management for the industry data program
This role would suit a capable analyst who enjoys taking ownership of data from collection through to reporting and can turn detailed information into practical insights for a broad industry audience.
We would like to hear from you if you offer:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in data analytics, economics or a related discipline, backed by proven experience in a similar data collection and analytics role
- The position requires advanced Excel skills, including the ability to produce clear graphs and reports
- Strong Power BI capability, including medium to high-level DAX, with experience building and maintaining interactive dashboards
- Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL, including querying, inserting, updating and altering data
- Excellent attention to detail and a disciplined approach to data validation, completeness and accuracy
- The ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and deliver projects with sound planning and budget awareness
- A practical, solutions-focused approach, with the ability to identify useful data sources and explain findings clearly
- You will have the opportunity to use your interpersonal skills to gain cooperation from growers, industry partners, consultants and internal stakeholders
- High level of organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple activities concurrently, prioritise work and meet deadlines.
