The Company
Fertiglobe is a global leader in nitrogen-based solutions, supplying essential fertilisers that support agriculture and a more sustainable future. In Australia, its integrated manufacturing, blending, storage and distribution network serves major agricultural sectors across the east and southern coasts.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Shipping Manager, the Discharge Supervisor will plan, coordinate and oversee bulk fertiliser vessel discharges across eastern Australia. Based primarily in Port Melbourne, the role combines office-based planning and stakeholder coordination with targeted port attendance to deliver safe, efficient and cost-effective vessel turnarounds.

You will manage discharge plans, schedules, contractors and changing operational conditions. Active discharges require time-sensitive support outside standard hours, including some early mornings, evenings and weekends.
Additional key responsibilities include:
  • Develop discharge plans and monitor vessel movements, port activity and warehouse readiness.
  • Coordinate shipping agents, stevedores, transport providers, warehouse operators and internal teams.
  • Analyse performance, address delays and improve contractor, time and cost outcomes.
  • Maintain oversight of safety, product integrity, environmental obligations and regulatory compliance.
  • Complete operational reporting and attend ports as required.
The Person
We are seeking a commercially minded logistics professional with sound judgement, strong stakeholder skills and a clear focus on safety, service and efficiency.
  • Experience in vessel discharge, port logistics, stevedoring, transport coordination, shipping agency or a related environment.
  • Strong planning, analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • Knowledge of OHS, Chain of Responsibility, maritime safety and environmental compliance.
  • Commercial awareness, attention to detail and confident stakeholder communication.
  • A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel to ports and operational sites.
Why this role?
This newly established role offers genuine ownership of discharge outcomes and the opportunity to improve contractor performance and operational decision-making across Fertiglobe’s Australian supply chain network. Practical onboarding will be provided, with responsibility growing in line with capability.
