The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Farm Advisory Specialist to join the DeLaval Oceania Technical team. Reporting to the Technical Support Manager, you will provide specialist farm advisory, milking performance and technology support that adds measurable value to dairy farmers, while strengthening DeLaval's Dealer and customer capability.
Working closely with farmers, Dealers and the Sales, Technical and Project teams, you will support customers from project concept through to commissioning, training and ongoing farm optimisation.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing specialist farm advisory and milking performance support across Automated Milking Systems (AMS) and Conventional Milking Systems (CMS)
- Assessing farm, herd and system performance and delivering practical, data-driven recommendations to improve efficiency, animal welfare and profitability
- Acting as a specialist in DelPro, herd management and Digital Services, helping customers use system data to make better decisions
- Supporting projects from solution design through installation, commissioning, handover and end-user training
- Building strong customer and stakeholder relationships while upholding the DeLaval brand and a strong safety culture
About You
You will be a customer-focused dairy professional who enjoys translating data and technology into practical results on farm. To be successful, you will bring:
- Several years experience in a technical, sales, farm advisory or related dairy industry role (including on farm experience)
- Knowledge of AMS and CMS milking system operation, performance and service
- A strong understanding of dairy herd management, farm performance KPIs and farming practices
- Experience with DelPro or other herd management software would be advantageous
- Strong coaching, training and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with farmers and Dealers
- Commercial awareness, strong data interpretation and problem-solving skills
