Our client is a leading Australian producer and exporter of premium beef servicing more than ten markets globally. They have grown to become one of the largest Wagyu producers in the world by volume. They have invested in their supply chain at every point, ensuring the highest consistency and quality of product to their customers year round.
The company owns and operates feedlots in Southern Australia, and leverages ongoing investment, enabling them to partner with customers that include wholesalers, restaurants, butchers and speciality stores. As part of their ongoing expansion, they manage a property just south of Yea with a breeding herd that is looking for its next manager.
The Role
The Farm Manager, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and supported by a broader team including breeding technicians, vets and contractors, will be responsible for overseeing the operations of a 220-hectare Wagyu seedstock property.
You will:
- Ensure the highest standards of animal welfare on the property.
- Oversee AI and ET programs onsite, including all scheduling, animal preparation and technician coordinator.
- Implement and monitor herd health programs, nutrition plans and record-keeping.
- Plan and execute intensive rotational grazing across segmented paddocks.
- Oversee daily farm operations, including fencing, water and infrastructure maintenance.
We are keen to hear from you if you possess the following background, experience and key skills:
- Proven experience in cattle management – ideally in Wagyu or seedstock operations.
- Strong knowledge of pasture management and intensive grazing systems.
- Practical understanding of AI and ET programs.
- A hands-on, practical approach to livestock and farm management.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- An open driver’s licence.
