The Company:

Stanbroke is a family owned and operated cattle and beef business. Their operations span Northern Queensland cattle properties, backgrounding operations in Southern Queensland, state of the art feedlots, a fully accredited beef processing facility and global marketing capabilities producing a full range of grain and grass-fed beef categories and exporting to over 40 countries.

The company has a strong growth mindset with the recent acquisition of a second feedlot.   

The Position:

 Due to a recent promotion, a rare opportunity has become available for a Feedlot Business Manager to take responsibility for leading feedlot operations with a strong commercial focus, ensuring optimal cattle performance, efficient resource use, and high levels of team engagement. Reporting to the General Manager Primary Production, the position oversees a large-scale modern feedlot operation of ~60,000 head with both a long and mid-fed cattle focus and plays a key role in driving continuous improvement, operational efficiency and team cohesion.

The operation has recently been upgraded to state-of-the art facilities with advanced operational systems with ongoing investment in emerging technologies. The position leads a high performing leadership team of 5 direct reports with an overall workforce of 62.  

The Person:

 We are keen to hear from you if you possess the following experience, key skills and competencies:
  • Executive level experience in senior commercial leadership positions in agribusiness and or feedlot operations overseeing diverse teams and complex operations
  • Experience managing budgets, financial performance and operational cost control with capability in data analysis and the use of new and emerging technology
  • Genuine commitment to WHS and animal welfare
  • Proven leadership capability in leading, coaching and mentoring a high performing management team to ensure team alignment and culture
  • Highly developed strategic planning with a strong commercial mindset and an understanding of whole of business impact
  • Operational agility with the ability to adapt and respond to change
  • Sound business and financial acumen with highly developed problem-solving skills
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, resilient and calm under pressure with high level influencing skills
  • Values driven and displaying high levels of integrity
