The Company

Our client, MEQ Probe, is redefining how the red meat industry measures quality. Traditionally, assessment relied on the human eye. MEQ’s technology delivers objective, real-time data that improves live cattle and carcass evaluation. Their solutions empower breeders, processors, and consumers while advancing sustainability and transparency across the beef and lamb sectors.

With adoption growing rapidly, MEQ Probe continues to expand its team to support increasing demand across Queensland and regional Australia.  Following several recent appointments, this role adds further capability to the team as MEQ Probe continues expanding its technology rollout.

The Opportunity

As a Field Technician, you will help ensure MEQ Probe’s technology performs reliably in commercial environments. You will install and maintain equipment, train operators, troubleshoot technical issues and provide ongoing support across customer sites.

This field-based role would suit someone who enjoys practical work, engaging with people and solving problems across varied production environments.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing ongoing client and field support
  • Installing, maintaining and troubleshooting MEQ equipment
  • Collecting and analysing data using MEQ technology
  • Training operators in the use of hardware and software systems
  • Developing and updating documentation and training materials
  • Sharing field insights with the product development team
About You

You will be practical, reliable and comfortable working independently across client sites. You will also need the communication skills to train operators, explain technical information clearly and build strong working relationships.

Experience within the meat, livestock or agricultural sectors would be highly regarded. MEQ is also open to candidates from broader operational backgrounds, including food production, manufacturing, processing, technical service or other hands-on environments.

To succeed, you’ll bring:
  • Technical aptitude, ideally gained in a field service, maintenance, production or operational role
  • An interest in software, hardware and applied technology
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability
  • Flexibility for early starts, later finishes and regional travel
  • A proactive and team-focused approach
Additional requirements:
  • A current, valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a drug test
  • Q-fever vaccination (or willingness to obtain)
MEQ is open to candidates based across Southeast Queensland and the Darling Downs, with particular interest in people located around Toowoomba, Warwick, Kilcoy, Caboolture/Woodford, Ipswich/Gatton, Allora and Maryvale.

The preferred location will depend on proximity to key customer sites and the broader coverage needs of the Queensland team. Candidates from surrounding areas are encouraged to apply where they are comfortable with regular regional travel.

Why this Role?

You will:
  • Join a growing business expanding its team and customer base
  • Work directly with producers, processors and industry operators across Queensland
  • Build experience across advanced hardware and software systems
  • Gain exposure to multiple production sites and operating environments
  • Contribute practical insights that help improve the technology
  • Participate in different projects as the business continues to grow
