The Opportunity:
Reporting directly to the Management Board of Paul Reinhart AG in Switzerland, this position is critical to the relationships of Reinhart Australia with its existing and potential grower client base. The General Manager will oversee the Australian operation and guarantee quality sourcing with extensive domestic travel to all cotton production areas, frequent contact with growers and brokers, and regular communication regarding competition activity.
A proactive approach is necessary to manage grower, broker, and agent relationships, with the goal of understanding and sharing target price levels and anticipated grower selling volumes internally. The role requires full dedication, including additional hours during peak periods as well as a strong focus on client relationships which are key to Reinhart’s success.
The General Manager – Australia will also be expected to represent Reinhart at industry events and conferences both domestically and internationally several times per year.
About You:
We are keen to hear from you if you possess the following background, key skills and attributes:
- Proven senior management experience in the agricultural commodity sector (cotton highly regarded), ideally with a strong grower, broker and agent network across multiple growing regions
- Well developed technical skills across origination and sourcing, commodity trading, risk management, supply chain and market analysis with the ability to drive financial growth and performance
- Proven relationship builder with highly developed negotiation skills and excellent verbal and written communication ability
- Well-developed team management and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster team cohesion to deliver against company objectives and timelines
- Business intelligence analysis and well-developed strategic thinking
- Advanced planning and administrative skills with the ability to identify and pursue development opportunities, both internally and externally
- Tertiary qualifications in Agricultural Economics, Business or similar highly regarded
This newly created executive role represents a rare opportunity to take accountability for the strategic leadership, governance, and delivery of Reinhart’s Australian operation. This position involves a combination of both office based analytical work and regular regional travel to all cotton growing regions visiting growers, gins and storage facilities.
