    Highly successful with staff enjoying a positive and trusting work culture, they are in need of a new General Manager to lead the development and delivery of the Associations key membership, events, training and communications initiatives.

    The Role
    The role of General Manager – Communications & Stakeholder Engagement is a key senior position reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with a highly skilled team of 4 direct reports including Professional Development Coordinator, Marketing & Communications Coordinator, Training & Education Manager, Administration Coordinator.

    A dynamic, exciting and challenging environment, you will be responsible for:
    • Maintaining strong membership value and engagement
    • Overseeing management for industry engagement events
    • Corporate communications
    • Program management
    • Develop and oversee relevant and current training material, workshops and e-learning initiatives
    • Community and stakeholder engagement
    The Person
    We are very interested to speak to you if you believe you have the following:
    • Effective people leadership skills and experience
    • Credibility/networks in the Australian livestock or agribusiness sector
    • Communications and event management experience
    • Commercial acumen in the delivery of member services, training and events
    • Proven industry and stakeholder engagement skills
    • The ability to understand, relate to, and connect with a broad range of industry entities
    • Exemplary organisational and planning skills
    • Advanced skills in administration, deadline management, prioritisation, adaptability and situational awareness
    • Some travel required  
    Ideally, you will have a passion for agriculture or indeed a background in agriculture and come with a solid reputation of exceptional communication and engagement and a keen desire to make a difference. This role will be ideally based in ALFA’s head office in Sydney.
