Highly successful with staff enjoying a positive and trusting work culture, they are in need of a new General Manager to lead the development and delivery of the Associations key membership, events, training and communications initiatives.
The Role
The role of General Manager – Communications & Stakeholder Engagement
is a key senior position reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with a highly skilled team of 4 direct reports including Professional Development Coordinator, Marketing & Communications Coordinator, Training & Education Manager, Administration Coordinator.
A dynamic, exciting and challenging environment, you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining strong membership value and engagement
- Overseeing management for industry engagement events
- Corporate communications
- Program management
- Develop and oversee relevant and current training material, workshops and e-learning initiatives
- Community and stakeholder engagement
We are very interested to speak to you if you believe you have the following:
- Effective people leadership skills and experience
- Credibility/networks in the Australian livestock or agribusiness sector
- Communications and event management experience
- Commercial acumen in the delivery of member services, training and events
- Proven industry and stakeholder engagement skills
- The ability to understand, relate to, and connect with a broad range of industry entities
- Exemplary organisational and planning skills
- Advanced skills in administration, deadline management, prioritisation, adaptability and situational awareness
- Some travel required
Ideally, you will have a passion for agriculture or indeed a background in agriculture and come with a solid reputation of exceptional communication and engagement and a keen desire to make a difference. This role will be ideally based in ALFA’s head office in Sydney.
