The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer, this newly created executive position is based in regional Victoria. As General Manager of Supply Chain, you will own the end-to-end supply chain execution from crop estimate to final customer delivery encompassing fruit storage, packing schedules, procurement and freight.
As a central pillar of the commercial leadership team, you will establish and run a disciplined, binding S&OP / IBP process, bridging farm operations, packing facilities, sales and marketing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Accountable for the design, cadence, and output of the S&OP / IBP process across all commodities and sites, maintaining a single aligned plan spanning harvest, packing, cold storage and demand.
- Establishing allocation rules that align crop packout curves with market windows, customer commitments, and packaging formats, while reducing product directed to juice and minimising waste.
- Owning and managing total cost-to-market per tonne across freight, packaging, dry goods, internal cartage and third-party logistics against budget baselines.
- Overseeing procurement governance, competitive tender processes, contract registers, rate reviews and supplier performance across major spend categories.
- Managing domestic and export logistics across sea and air freight, including protocol market compliance (DAFF requirements, orchard and packhouse accreditations and cold chain standards).
- Managing controlled atmosphere store loading, sealing, release decisions, and container/pallet pooling arrangements to preserve shelf life and outturn quality.
- Establishing master data governance across core systems, building advanced reporting and decision support capabilities, and elevating the supply chain from reactive execution to a scalable, best-practice operating model.
The ideal candidate will be a commercially astute, data-driven supply chain leader who performs effectively in a fast-paced, seasonal environment and can maintain a clear, evidence-based position when priorities compete or operating pressure increases.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Planning, Business, or an aligned discipline.
- A minimum of ten years of senior supply chain leadership experience within FMCG, fresh produce, food processing, meat, dairy, or cold-chain environments.
- Proven experience designing, implementing, and running mature S&OP / IBP processes in a multi-site setting.
- Deep technical capability across domestic and international logistics, export market protocols, cold-chain management and procurement governance.
- Strong analytical, data-reconciliation, and critical-thinking skills (proficiency with MS Office and BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau).
- Outstanding cross-functional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence farming, site operations, and commercial sales teams alike.
- High resilience, adaptability, and an operational focus on continuous improvement and bench-strength building.
