In Australia, their product range supports key agricultural sectors along the east and southern coast, such as cropping, horticulture, pasture, and forestry. They distribute fertilisers from locations across the East Coast and Southern States, sourcing from reliable global partners.
The Opportunity
The General Manager Supply Chain is a key executive role responsible for leading and developing their inbound supply chain strategy linking overseas producers with domestic operational assets. You will drive planning, procurement, and logistics, ensuring operational excellence and support for the company’s growth ambitions. This position requires strong leadership, global supplier engagement, and a commitment to continuous improvement and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the company’s supply chain strategy, covering planning, procurement, and logistics.
- Lead and manage sourcing activities with global fertilizer suppliers, including occasional international travel.
- Oversee logistics from purchase to warehouse, ensuring product quality and timely delivery.
- Oversee inventory, investigate discrepancies, and optimize distribution for cost and service.
- Lead, develop, and support the Supply Chain team, setting KPIs and conducting performance reviews.
- Collaborate with executives and business units to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Review and improve business processes, leveraging technology and data.
They are seeking a commercially savvy and experienced leader who possesses the following background, key skills and attributes:
- Proven experience as an executive or senior manager in supply chain management with extensive knowledge of the fertiliser industry and key agribusiness drivers
- A strong background in integrated business planning (S&OP), procurement, and logistics with experience in linking overseas chartering and support teams to local assets
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive change, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Experience with Netsuite ERP and/or Anaplan software will be highly regarded
