As the business has grown and developed, their need for health, safety and environment management skills have changed. They require a skilled and experienced HSE Manager for their operations in North Qld, leading safety across multiple sites.
The Position
The HSE Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role focuses on risk mitigation, employee safety, and environmental sustainability while promoting a culture of safety across the organisation.
As the driver of safety across all areas of the business, your duties will be varied. Broadly, these duties will include design and management of workplace safety programs, risk assessment and hazard identification, incident and injury management, employee training and engagement and the responsibility for environmental compliance.
The Person
We are keen to hear from you if you possess the following background, experience and key attributes;
- Ideally 5+ years of relevant experience in a HSE environment (exposure to agriculture is ideal but not a prerequisite)
- High level analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels
- Strong team player with excellent stakeholder engagement skills, both internal and external
- Willingness to travel to Group sites in Far North Queensland (frequent) and interstate (infrequent)
- Tertiary qualifications in a discipline such as Safety or Business
- High levels of initiative and personal drive with the ability to work autonomously
- Demonstrate leadership and accountability for your actions
