    Our client is a leading Australian producer and exporter of premium beef. They are one of the largest Wagyu producers in the world by volume. In every part of their business, and at every step of the way, they focus on quality and consistency.

    Through their integrated supply chain and signature process, they deliver a consistent supply of award-winning Wagyu branded products all year round. They own and operate feedlots, invest in elite genetics, and partner with intergenerational farmers in some of Australia’s premier livestock regions. Their customers include wholesalers, restaurants, butchers and speciality stores, in domestic and international markets, and they have a clear strategy to grow.  

    The Role
    Reporting to the Head of Global Markets, the Key Account Manager is the vital link between the sales team and production planning. The role is responsible for ensuring effective, timely, and accurate communication with customers in Australia and around the world.

    Regular duties will also include:
    • Act as the key conduit between Sales Managers and the production planning function, communicating supply and logistical capability in a timely manner.
    • Manage select customer relationships, confirming orders, pricing, and scheduling as required.
    • Assist senior sales team members to deliver the global sales plan.
    • Develop the annual sales plan alongside the Head of Global Markets and senior sales team members.
    • Assist in the quarterly sales planning process.
    • Own and optimise the customer onboarding process, ensuring effective communication of operational details.
    This role will be based in our client’s Melbourne head office.

    The Person
    If you’re highly motivated, passionate about beef and possess the following skills and experience, we’re keen to hear from you.
    • Degree qualified in commercial and/or food and agriculture-related fields.
    • 5+ years working in a role that has given you exceptional understanding of the Australian beef production and sales environment, preferably of premium grain-fed and/or Wagyu products.
    • Excellent knowledge of beef cuts and specifications, particularly in relation to Wagyu and the Aus-Meat system of beef specifications.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Exceptional attention to detail.
    • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
    • Proactive, with a strong willingness to learn and grow in a team environment.
