GenTech Seeds is a recognised premium brand in Australian agribusiness and the exclusive producer and distributor of Pioneer® brand products in Australia.
The business works closely with growers to produce hybrid seed products suited to Australian farming systems, with a major seed manufacturing and distribution site based at Narromine in Central West NSW. The Narromine site brings together production, quality, field operations and distribution within a highly seasonal seed production environment.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Site Manager, this role will lead technical agronomy across commercial seed production in the Macquarie Valley.
The role is focused on corn through summer and canola through winter, with some involvement in sorghum, production trials and broader improvement projects. It combines crop agronomy, grower engagement and close collaboration with production, field and quality teams.
Key responsibilities include:- Manage seasonal agronomy programs across corn, canola and sorghum seed production.
- Support growers with crop establishment, nutrition, irrigation, pest and disease decisions.
- Monitor crop performance, seasonal risk, yield potential and seed quality requirements.
- Contribute to production planning, trials and continuous improvement projects.
Seed production experience would be valuable, but the business is open to experienced agronomists from broader broadacre, row crop or production backgrounds who can bring technical depth, sound judgement and the right team approach.
About You
You are a practical agronomist who enjoys being close to the crop, the grower and the commercial outcome.
Experience in corn, canola or seed production would be valuable, although sound crop agronomy, good judgement and grower communication will be the key.
You will bring:- Agronomy experience across broadacre, irrigated or seed production systems.
- Confidence working directly with growers, contractors and operational teams.
- Sound judgement across crop performance, timing, quality and seasonal risk.
- A hands-on, accountable approach with the ability to take ownership of a region.
This is a genuine opportunity to step into a senior agronomy role with clear ownership of a key production region. You will be close to the decisions that affect crop performance, seed quality and grower outcomes, while working within a respected national business with strong systems, established grower relationships and a premium brand in the market.
For someone who enjoys technical agronomy, commercial production and building trust with growers, this role offers the chance to have real influence across a high-value seed production program.
