The Opportunity

GRDC is seeking a  Manager, Chemical Regulation to deliver the GRDC’s chemical regulation programs consistent with the GRDC Chemical Regulation Framework. This is engaging with Australian grains industry stakeholders and developing and managing a portfolio of chemical regulation RDE investments that deliver value to Australian grain growers.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Biosecurity and Regulation you will be building strong national and regional business cases for investments in chemical regulation, by building and maintaining collaborative cross industry relationships and strong internal cross business unit interactions. Then overseeing contract management for compliance and efficient use of resources ensuring alignment with GRDC’s vision and goals.

The role involves:
  • Design, delivery and performance of R&D investments
  • Procurement and contract management
  • Stakeholder engagement and collaboration
  • Providing technical advice on agricultural chemicals permitted use applications and regulatory risk analysis
About You

To be successful in this role you will have:
  • Understanding of and experience in agricultural chemical regulation and associated applications in Australian grain production systems
  • Demonstrated experience in the generation of agricultural chemical regulation data including the design, delivery and management of RDE projects related to regulation of agricultural chemicals
  • Ability to work closely with wide range of stakeholders
  • Ability to influence and communicate technical information clearly
  • Tertiary qualifications in science, agriculture, horticultural science with expertise in one or more areas of plant pathology, entomology, weed science, biotechnology, microbiology or toxicology
Strong analytical skills, critical assessment and attention to detail is required.
  
There is travel in the role, some out of hour’s work required, valid driver’s licence and full Australian Working Rights (Citizenship or Permanent Residency) are required.
