Our client is a respected national player in the agricultural sector, committed to supporting growers, dealers, and rural communities with reliable access to high‑quality fertiliser products. They play a key role as a national fertiliser supplier with a strong presence in distribution, product management, and procurement across Australia. We are seeking an experienced National Procurement Manager to lead their international purchasing and import logistics function.
The Role
As the National Procurement Manager, you will manage international purchasing, contract negotiation, freight coordination, and stock planning to ensure consistent product availability. You’ll work closely with global suppliers, shipping partners, internal sales teams, and finance to optimise cost, service, and risk across the supply chain.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead procurement planning aligned to national demand forecasts
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with international suppliers
- Manage international freight, shipping schedules, and logistics partners
- Oversee FX exposure in collaboration with finance
- Monitor national inventory, landed costs, and aged stock
- Build strong supplier relationships and ensure accountability
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, and Treasury
- Drive continuous improvement in systems, processes, and supplier performance
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, legislation, and ethical standards
We would be keen to speak to you if you have the following:
- 5+ years’ experience in procurement or supply chain, ideally within fertiliser, agriculture, commodities, or similar bulk imported products
- Strong understanding of global supply chains, international shipping, and import/export processes
- Demonstrated experience managing overseas suppliers and negotiating commercial contracts
- Knowledge of INCOTERMS, import documentation, and FX management
- High commercial acumen with strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills
- Ability to work across time zones and build strong global relationships
- Strong systems capability (ERP, Excel, data analysis)
