The Role
A role reporting directly to the National Product Development Manager, you will plan, coordinate and execute product development of vegetable variety trials for the Australian market. A strategic yet hands on role, you will focus mainly on the covered cropping market and work closely with suppliers, growers and internal teams to achieve business objectives and market demands.
The role focusses on:
- Product Trials : Plan, coordinate, and execute local product trials across regions and crops, focusing on tomato, capsicum, and cucumber
- Annual Trial Programs : Develop and implement annual trial programs, collecting, analysing and reporting performance data
- Collaboration : Work with international breeders and suppliers on trial outcomes and product selection
- Market Analysis : Monitor market trends, grower requirements, and competitor activity to identify opportunities
- Technical Support : Provide technical support and training to sales and customer service teams including clients
- Relationship Building : Build strong relationships with growers, suppliers, and industry stakeholders
- Representation : Represent Terranova Seeds at industry events, field days, and customer visits
We are keen to hear from you if you have the below experience and background:
- Exceptional stakeholder and engagement skills able to deal with a wide range of breeders and suppliers
- Experience in product development, crop trials, or technical agronomy
- Knowledge of vegetable crops and production systems in the Australian market
- Strong planning, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to interpret and present technical data effectively
- Willingness to travel within Australia and occasionally internationally
- A tertiary qualification in horticulture, agronomy, or a related field
