Grains Australia has an established governance structure that identifies and designs strategic responses for Australia’s key priorities in domestic and international markets for its core functions. They serve as the connection between what the market wants and what the industry can provide, enabling a value exchange between Australian growers and end users around the world.
The operations and business of Grains Australia are governed by a skills-based board of directors who have oversight of governance, strategic, financial performance and operational efficiency across all functions of the business.
An established Director Selection Committee (DSC) will appoint two (2) new directors to the board. The Grains Research & Development Corporation, as the sole member of Grains Australia, will appoint the directors following receipt of nominations from the DSC.
To complement the existing board members, Grains Australia are seeking candidates with a combination of expertise and experience in the following areas (but not limited to):
- Director with Australian grain production background, who ideally can bring additional board skills
- Director with skills in extracting value and transforming data into practical applications, preferably with exposure to Australian agriculture
- Business & commercial skills
- Risk Management
- Financial acumen
- Corporate governance
It is expected candidates will not only have a genuine interest in the Australian grains industry but also illustrate an ability to contribute to the organisation and the Board through strong skills and a track record of working effectively in a team.
