GenTech Seeds is a recognised premium brand in Australian agribusiness and the exclusive producer and distributor of Pioneer® brand products in Australia.
The business works closely with growers to produce hybrid seed products suited to Australian farming systems, with a major seed production and distribution facility based at Narromine in Central West NSW.
The Opportunity
This newly created role will take responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the Narromine facility, providing leadership across seed processing, bulk operations, treat and pack, warehousing and distribution.
Reporting to the Head of Production Operations, you will lead the operational teams and Production Leads, with a focus on people, planning, performance and ensuring seasonal production targets are achieved.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead day-to-day plant operations across processing, warehousing and distribution.
- Manage production planning, labour, resources, workflows and competing priorities.
- Set clear expectations and drive performance against operational targets and KPIs.
- Lead, coach and develop the operational team, building capability and accountability.
- Work closely with Quality, WHS, Maintenance and other site functions.
- Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity and reliability.
While Production Leads manage much of the daily execution, you'll remain closely involved in the operation, providing direction, resolving issues and stepping in where needed. This role will suit a practical, hands-on leader who is equally comfortable managing people and priorities as they are getting involved on the plant floor.
About You
You’re an experienced operational leader who enjoys being close to the people and the day-to-day workings of a production environment.
Experience in seed processing or agriculture would be valuable, although GenTech is open to candidates from manufacturing, processing, grain handling, warehousing or other relevant production environments.
You will bring:
- Experience leading operational teams in a production or processing environment.
- Strong planning and organisational skills across people, workflows and resources.
- A practical understanding of plant operations, safety and operational risk.
- Confidence leading through supervisors or team leads and managing performance.
- A practical, hands-on leadership style, with the willingness to step in and support the team when needed.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach across teams.
