The Company

The Opportunity
Reporting to the General Manager Finance and working closely with the Strategy and Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for the financial governance of the Restoring Murray Waterways Project . This vital initiative involves upgrading civil infrastructure to support environmental watering across creeks and wetlands.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Financial Reporting - Managing budgets, actual costs, forecasts at completion, earned value reporting, and ledger reconciliations.
  • Governance & Compliance - Ensuring all expenditure aligns with funding agreement eligibility and maintaining accurate records for project audit and acquittal.
  • Cashflow Management - Overseeing treasury management and ensuring contract/supplier payments meet statutory requirements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement - Partnering with external auditors, funding partners, and the MIL finance team to provide transparent financial analysis that supports key decision-making.
About You
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented finance professional with experience in large-scale infrastructure projects. You will bring:
  • Qualifications - A bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance, or Commerce. Membership in a professional body (CA or CPA) is highly regarded.
  • Experience - Proven background in project financial control, specifically within large infrastructure or civil environments.
  • Technical Skills - Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite. Experience with Pronto or Workday is a significant advantage.
  • Communication - Highly developed written and oral skills, with the ability to interact professionally with management and external consultants.
  • Autonomy - An established ability to prioritise complex tasks, meet strict deadlines, and work independently.
  • Essentials - A current driver’s licence and a flexible approach to support the wider team as required.
