Regional Manager - Field Research

The Role

A new role has been created for a Regional Manager - Goondiwindi to manage an area of the northern business research unit, overseeing the field operations and logistics in the broadacre regions of Northern NSW/Sth West QLD and Central QLD.

Reporting to the Northern Business Manager, you will be responsible for managerial, technical and administrative areas of the unit’s business performance. This includes working closely with your team of 7 direct reports to ensure delivery of clients and trial objectives. The research work is comprehensive and diverse covering a wide range of crops across residue, efficacy and breeding trials.  It is estimated that 60% of your time would be in the office and 40% in the field, which would include training newer staff and running your own small field trial program.

There is a requirement to travel at regular intervals to the regional offices.

The Person

The successful person will have the following skills and attributes:

• Commercial business & people management experience.
• Agronomy knowledge and familiarity with crops grown in this geographic region.
• Ideally field trial (R&D) and logistics experience, with good attention to detail.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Agriculture/ Business /Commerce.

A generous salary package including vehicle is on offer for the successful candidate. There is some flexibility on location however you are required to work closely with the teams in Goondiwindi and Narrabri.

You may have local industry experience in crop protection, seed, retail distribution, research or Research Development Corporations (RDC’s), and looking for a new challenge to step up into a leadership role.
