Their Farmland Services team manages high-quality agricultural properties on behalf of investor clients, delivering production efficiencies, risk management and long-term sustainable returns. Australian assets include the 19,000 ha Cowl Cowl station at Hillston, with significant water entitlements and diversified production including cotton, winter cereals and almonds.
Role overview:
Reporting to the General Manager — Operations, the Regional Manager - Riverina will lead operational delivery across multiple properties in Southern NSW. This senior leadership role is responsible for the delivery of the operational performance and safety outcomes of the multiple farming assets at different stages of their lifecycle, including operational and development programs.
Cowl Cowl Station proudly produces a variety of winter and summer crops, including cotton, wheat, barley, and canola across 9,900 hectares. Lateral Move machines are used to irrigate the vast cropping areas, and form part of the critical water infrastructure along with bores and pumps that underpin the production outcomes in the region.
The operation not only focuses on its agricultural output but also values the well-being and growth of its employees, contributing to a strong sense of community and shared purpose among the team of 40-45 staff across the properties. A suite of on-farm dwelling options are located across the properties providing housing for both permanent and casual staff to meet operational requirements.
Region footprint:
- Mature operations across three sites totaling 20,000+ hectares.
- Irrigated cotton, broadacre cropping and horticulture in Hillston and Griffith, NSW.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and develop teams of Farm Managers and administrative staff across the region, including six direct reports.
- Develop the annual cropping plan based on water resources and market outlooks.
- Drive financial performance across cotton, broadacre and horticultural enterprises.
- Prepare and manage multi-site budgets , monitor performance and maintain financial controls.
- Develop business cases and manage and execute capital investment programs.
- Champion safety, environmental and quality assurance programs.
- Build and maintain stakeholder relationships with suppliers, contractors, industry groups and local communities.
To succeed you will bring:
- Proven leadership in planning, organising and problem solving within a team environment.
- Experience leading large teams at senior farm management level in a corporate farming business.
- Hands-on management experience in large-scale irrigated row crop or dryland farming, horticulture, or specialist experience in cotton (is preferred).
- Strong knowledge of irrigation infrastructure and water management.
- Experience managing logistics across multiple farm sites.
- Comfortable with corporate governance, reporting and working within a corporate farming structure.
- Post-secondary or tertiary qualification in agriculture, agribusiness or business.
