Cotton Seed Distributors (CSD) is an independently Australian owned business that supplies the Australian cotton industry with the best seed, germplasm, treatments, and biotechnology traits to deliver world leading yield and quality. Since the 1970’s, they have enjoyed a long-standing relationship with CSIRO, through the development and release of over a hundred cotton varieties. Collaborating closely with industry partners, the Cotton Research Development Corporation (CRDC) and Cotton Australia (CA), CSD are committed to investigating and promoting leading seed varieties to the cotton industry. There is now an exciting opportunity to join the business to provide leadership and oversite of the management and financial reporting functions.
The Role:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and implementing the financial and management reporting functions, through the delivery of a comprehensive annual accounting program. Working across the entire organisation, the Senior Accountant will report on functions such as: cash flow management, internal audit, business performance evaluation (Power BI, Cognos BI and TM1), external audit, oversight of payroll and taxation. End-users will be senior people leaders across the organisation, and this includes both corporate and operational teams. This position will initially be offered as a twelve-month contract, with the option to continue in a permanent capacity.
The Person:
To be considered for the role, candidates will possess:
- Completed CA/CPA Qualifications - essential
- A track record of success in a senior accounting position
- Skills and experience in both financial and management accounting
- Excellent communication and I.T. skills
- A contemporary understanding of Australian tax legislation and payroll processes
- Strong relationship management skills
- A high level of motivation
