Australian Grain Export is an Australian grain trading and export business with a focus on building enduring supplier, customer and service provider relationships. The Opportunity
Reporting to the Trading Manager, the Trader will be responsible for the management and execution of commodity trading strategies across cereal commodities. This role will contribute directly to financial performance through informed trading decisions, active market analysis, disciplined risk management and the identification of profit enhancement opportunities.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Trading cereal commodities on a daily and weekly basis.
- Developing and executing trading strategies based on Australian and global market analysis.
- Managing price, counterparty and credit risk.
- Maintaining accurate supply, demand and position reporting.
- Supporting accumulation and sales decisions.
- Working closely with logistics, finance and service providers to ensure effective contract execution.
We would be interested in speaking with candidates that have experience in grain trading, commodity markets, accumulation or a related commercial role within the agribusiness supply chain. You will bring strong commercial acumen, sound market awareness and the ability to make informed decisions in a fast-moving trading environment. You will also demonstrate an understanding of risk management tools, including foreign exchange, futures, options or OTC instruments.
You will also be a confident relationship builder, able to work closely with growers, customers, service providers and internal teams. Attention to detail, accurate reporting, integrity and the ability to operate within established policies and risk frameworks will be important to your success.
