The Opportunity
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Spray Manager will be responsible for planning, procurement, execution, and the optimisation of an annual spray program. This role combines hands-on spraying, chemical and inventory management, and active involvement in agronomy and production decision-making - to ensure that crops are protected efficiently, as well as safely, and profitably.
As one of the leaders inside of the business, the Spray Manager plays a key role in maximising yield potential, protecting crop quality, managing resistance risk, and controlling costs through precise, well-timed spray programs.
About You
To be successful in this key leadership position, the Spray Manager will ideally possess the following skills and experience:
- Experience with modern spray equipment and farm machinery
- Hands-on leadership experience, gained in production agriculture
- Strong interpersonal, communication and planning skills
- Some experience with agronomy, procurement and precision agriculture
- Ability to work with contractors and agronomists, as required
- Experience leading by example, in promoting a safety-first culture
