Our client is a large scale, integrated merchandising and supply chain management company. The business largely focuses on merchandising commodities to a number of domestic and export markets, trading grains, seeds and pulses as well as fats and proteins.
They focus on accumulating raw commodities for end customers, and with strategic assets in Brisbane, they export to a number of overseas channels in all major grain and seed markets.
The Role
Working closely with the Trading Manager and Grains Trading team, you will be responsible for assisting the accumulation of grain stocks and managing the logistics and contract execution to support this process. In addition to this you will:
- Work with Trading team to accumulate grain stocks whilst understanding strategic priorities and market positions.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry for all trade related activities at Traders direction.
- Raise and enter all CMO’s.
- Assist with supplier invoices – specifically third party invoices related to trade activities.
- Arrange relevant freight and logistics movements, both rail and road into key end user sites.
- Ad hoc work as assigned by trading team.
The Person
The ideal candidate will be looking to further develop their career within the Grains or Commodity Trading sector, ideally with some experience in grain logistics or an understand of the Australian grain markets.
You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and strong analytical skills. Suitable education from an Agricultural orientated degree would be preferred, however any level of experience would be open to evaluation for the right person. You will enjoy working in a team environment and will have support available at all times.
