The Position

We are seeking a graduate or early career professional who is keen to pursue a career in agronomy.  You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced agronomists in providing services solutions to growers, technical knowledge, and providing growers with the very latest in product development and advice to maximise their bottom line.  The position is customer facing with a commercial/sales focus and will allow you to develop your skills as an agronomist, including crop agronomy, administration, inventory control, and analysis and reporting in cropping operations.
  
This position reports and works closely with the AgServices Business Manager and is responsible for the following:
  • Assist to present monthly account management reports and EBIT targets set by the business
  • Undertake soil sampling and processing for customers
  • Develop new business & product opportunities with the Agribusiness Agronomists
  • Build relationships with fertiliser customers alongside the AgServices team, through regular interaction with the grower customer base
  • Assist in customer service incidents reporting
  • Participate in the team preparation and implementation of Sales and Marketing plan for sales regions, to be updated annually with Business Manager
  • Assisting in annual advertising and promotional plan within sales regions with Business Manager
  • Participate in development and management of strategy to ensure environmental sustainability of the business
  • Increase profile of Wilmar AgServices in regional agriculture through industry bodies
The Person

To be successful in this role you will have tertiary qualifications in Agricultural/Horticultural Science or related discipline.  You will be a confident self-starter with outstanding communication skills and a have passion for supporting Australian farmers to achieve maximum productivity. You will hold a Class C Australian Driver’s License and be able to work both autonomously and within a team environment. You will be ready to get stuck in with your excellent problem-solving skills and have a strong willingness to learn. Some experience or knowledge with GIS applications would be advantageous, but not considered essential.
